Whether you’re just replacing or adding an outlet, or completely upgrading your service, we’re here to help.
We understand how frustrating, and scary, electrical issues in the home can be. Sometimes a circuit breaker wears out over time and becomes weak. When this happens the breaker could start tripping prematurely and become a real nuisance. But, what if it isn’t the circuit breaker? What if there’s a problem with your wiring that’s causing the fault? In this sense we feel relief that the circuit breaker is doing it’s job, but somewhere in the back of our minds we worry about overheating wires leading to something worse.
A similar scenario plays out for something as simple as a receptacle that starts having issues. Perhaps everything at your panel is fine until you try to plug something into a specific outlet in your home. For some reason, whenever you attach something to this one receptacle, the breaker trips…even with the device turned off. In this case, it’s possible that one or more terminations at the receptacle have become loose and are making contact with each other or a metal box whenever the outlet moves just a little due to something being plugged in. Over time, this arcing connection could cause further issues with your wiring due to overheating, or even lead to a house fire.
At Mountain Electric, we take the time to diagnose every repair fully, without making assumptions. If we find a faulty receptacle, we don’t just replace it. We want to make sure we understand if that receptacle just failed due to normal wear and tear, or if there’s something else that led to the premature failure. So, continuing with the receptacle example, we would replace the receptacle, and then we would test that branch circuit for any faults such as intermittent shorts, loose connections or excessive voltage drop on the line. This way, when we leave, we’re confident you can feel safe with your new device and existing wiring having been fully tested under loaded conditions.
We’re also fully qualified to help calculate the demand load at your residence or business and determine if additional circuits can be added for a remodel or addition. Whether you just need an extra outlet or two, or if you need to add a subpanel to service more equipment, we’ll ensure your electrical service is sized correctly for any additional demand.
We understand the inconvenience of having service personnel coming and going, and of constant power interruptions, so we always work in an efficient and professional manner to minimize obtrusions and downtime.
